Rooted in the Wabash Valley.
Leading for Indiana.

From the family farm to the Statehouse, Bob Heaton
remains driven by the values of hard work, faith, and community.

A Heritage of Hard Work

Born and raised on a Clay County farm that has been in the Heaton family for over 120 years, Bob learned early on that nothing is given—it’s earned. Whether it was chores on the farm or playing for the Clay City Eels, Bob’s foundation was built on Hoosier grit.

The Power of Teamwork

Most know Bob from the historic 1978-79 Indiana State Sycamores basketball season. Playing alongside Larry Bird in the NCAA Championship wasn’t just about sports; it was about learning how a dedicated team can achieve the impossible. Bob brings that same “team-first” mentality to the Indiana House as Majority Whip for the House Republicans.

A Career in Financial Excellence

With a degree in Business Administration from ISU, Bob has spent decades helping families secure their futures. Since 2003, as President of Heaton Financial Services, he has applied his expertise in fiscal responsibility to both his business and the state’s budget.

Family & Faith

Bob and his wife, Jane Ann, are proud residents of the Wabash Valley. They are active members of the Union Christian Church and devoted grandparents to five grandchildren. Bob’s commitment to the youth of our community is reflected in over 20 years of service to the Boys & Girls Club and Wabash Valley Youth for Christ.
